Just Drift-Wooding Along

As anyone who knows me will tell you... I'm not brilliant. But every now and then... once every few years I have a flash of good judgement. It happened yesterday while we were driving back from our God awful Road To Hana adventure.
Part of the trip was along the beach. It is amazing how many people seem to be camping or actually living on the beach. You would have to see it to believe it. Anyway, along this stretch of beach... maybe a mile or so... the road was less than 100 feet from the water and between the road and the water is mostly sand with some rough trees growing here and there. And amongst all that are some huge pieces of driftwood. Some of it is downright artistic looking.
So, as we were driving by it hit me that the driftwood with the beach and ocean in the background might make for some pretty pictures. So, I suggested that and both girls thought it sounded like a great idea. But, I made a mistake. I got lazy. I let us all sleep in until about 6:30 which made it nearly 8 before we were on location to shoot. But, even at that we got some great shots. Easy to do when working with talented, beautiful models like Gretchen and Twila.

The good news is today seems to be the beginning of the trip turning around for me. I'm trying not to get my hopes up but until today I would have gladly rebooked our tickets and been on a plane out of here ASAP. However, a promise is a promise and I'm staying to shoot what I agreed to shoot. Besides we have a 50' sailboat booked for Thursday that is already paid for. Duhhhh. So, I'm going to enjoy drifting along and hope for the best for the next few days. Stay tuned for more from the Pa'ia Secret Beach shoot that was after the drift wood.
