Sailing Off Into The Sunset... sort of

Twila and I had scheduled a trip on a sunset cocktail cruise for last night... Saturday night. No kids was the big draw. Easy, right? Not so fast. First we had to find the place. We got into an area near the marina and I guess it is an older part of town full of quaint shops and such. Very touristy. Think Mardi Gras. It was crazy. People everywhere. We finally made it through them and found a parking place in a parking lot we hoped was near the cruise office.
This parking lot had one of those automated pay here or get towed things. So, of course I paid! Not a hard choice.
Then we started waling trying to find the office. It just should be this hard but it was. Twila was smart enough to stop and ask directions... twice... and we finally got the. The girl was very nice and gave us our boarding pass and directed us to a park near the slip where the boat would be and told us to wait for the crew to come get us.

They finally did come get us... even if they were about 20 minutes late and it was HOT waiting. Shortly we were on the boat with an all female crew... which was sort of fun. They handled the boat great and once out of the harbor they shut down the engines and got the sales up. That was fun. What wasn't so fun were the waves. They were pretty hefty causing it to be nearly impossible to walk around.
It was not a dinner cruise... just cocktails and snacks and since there were only 16 of us on a cruise planned for 52 there was plenty of food to go around but it wasn't that great. But the crew was fun and kept us entertained while working hard on the boat.

We enjoyed the cruise though it did make Twila a little seasick. But as always she handled it like a trooper and pushed her way through it. We got to see the sunset on the water though it wasn't that great a sunset.

All in all the cruise was probably not worth the hassle of finding the place and all the walking in the heat and also the cost. But, as they say, you only live once and it sounded like fun at the time we booked it. Thank God the boat was not at capacity because it felt full to us at 16.
Anyway, We had our first beach shoot this morning and that will likely be my next subject. Thanks for reading and have a great day,
