Take this job and... LOVE IT!

In my life I have had lots of jobs and some of them were less glamorous than owning a magazine, advertising agency or rental properties... though those really aren't that glamourous.
I was once a bag boy at a grocery that had an incinerator for burning boxes. Once a month somebody had to go outside and clean all the ashes out of the incinerator and it was a nasty, crappy job in the winter. In the summer it was beyond horrible as I often got stuck doing it. I also worked in the asphalt business for a few years and remember, in July, laying on train tracks under a huge railroad tank car trying to hook up steam cables and the 6" steel hose used to pump the 300 degree asphalt out of it. Neither a job I would want to do now but they taught me a lot about effort and desire to have a job I loved... which I do now.

Above is the view from "my office" Saturday morning as I prepare this BLOG post. I am checking email and posting and doing a little other work while Gretchen and Chuck have taken the Jeep in search of food and crap they want and while Twila is getting us all unpacked and organized.
As you can see... there are certainly worse places to work. I'm not sure this is the nicest place we have ever stayed and maybe not the best view but right now I am enjoying an 82 degree day with a gentle breeze and view of the ocean.
Life could be a lot worse. Refer back to my saying... "God looks out for..." you know the rest. If you are not a believer then I hate that for you. I thank God every day for everything in my and Twila's lives and how it all goes as the only credit I take for any of our blessings is the tiny bit of smarts God blessed me with the the great work ethic He put in me and Twila. But, as they often say, "When you work at something you love... it isn't really work!" This is so true.
Have a blessed day and stay tuned. This evening is the adults only cocktail cruise and tomorrow morning will be the first beach photo shoot that got moved from this morning. Hope you are enjoying our ramblings!
