Maui Travel Jeopardy... let's play... can you guess?

The answer is... "19 dresses, 33 tops, 30 swimsuits, 6 shorts, 2 jeans, 5 high heels, 1 knee-high boots and various jewelry and makeup!"

The question is what does a model pack who is doing over 14 photo shoots in 6 days in Hawaii?

As a photographer who always likes to be prepared I have spent my career traveling with too much gear... extra camera bodies, several flashes, lots of batteries and tons of other stuff that never sees the light of day at a shoot. But if I didn't have it I would almost certainly need it. But nothing prepared me for traveling with models.

Twila is one of the most organized and hard working people I have ever known. But, she makes me look like a minimalist when it comes to packing for photo shoots. I picked the locations we hope to shoot while in Maui and shared them with her. At least 4 waterfalls, 7 beaches, a chartered sailboat sunset cruise and 4 or 5 other interesting locations. OK. I get it... that's 14 or 15 photo shoots in 6 days. No... we won't be sleeping much. But REALLY!!!

Twila took over our spare bedroom to stage her Maui clothing and it has been weeks of sorting through current things, ordering new things, substituting this for that and matching this top with those shorts and these boots with that top. Heck, two of the beaches are clothing optional so does she really need to pack anything for those? : ) Well, she thinks she does.

Then, once she had assigned clothes for each shoot she had me take pictures of her in the clothes and put the pictures on the website. Then she ordered these large Ziplock bags and separated all the clothes into bags labeled for each shoot. You can see her suitcase above. That is just the clothes. No shoes. No boots. No jewelry. No makeup.

In fairness, weight does not seem to be a problem. Bikinis and crop tops don't weigh too much. I expect the shoes, boots, jewelry and makeup might change that but once we get the air out of all those Ziplock bags there should be plenty of room for the rest of her stuff.
