We're going to Hawaii... We're going to Hawaii

It was only yesterday that we were on the phone with Gretchen trying to decide if we could manage a trip to Hawaii... and in two days we wing our way West... WAY WEST! 4,275 miles to be exact!

We look like a couple of Hawaii tourists. Well, I do. Twila looks smashing as always. Needless to say the above picture of us with the sailboat sunset in the background is from some Photoshop magic. But we will be seeing the real thing soon enough.
"The trip of a lifetime!" I don't know how many times we have said that over the past few months but, for us, this trip to Hawaii would seem to be it. But, God willing, there's more. See our Texas BLOG!
So, with two days left we are getting serious about packing and trying not to forget anything. Twila and Gretchen have been texting back and forth about what clothes they are taking as they will both be modeling... a lot.
Both girls are intimately familiar with the 50 pound suitcase weight limit. The good news... bikinis, shorts and t-shirts don't weigh a lot. But high heels, boots and makeup... now that's heavy stuff. But, to their credit, the first pass on Twila's suitcase was 38 pounds and Gretchen's was 31 pounds. Personally, if not for extra camera gear mine would probably be 15 pounds and I would sell them space. : )
While they have been planning what to take for modeling and site seeing I've been stressing over how we will get from Bowling Green to the airport in Nashville. The only thing worse than hauling your luggage 200 yards to the shuttle and dragging it on and riding for 30 minutes to the terminal is doing it with two models instead of one.
I considered a limo service. One doesn't work the crazy hours we need... leaving BG at 2:00am and returning to the airport at 12:30am. The other one wanted nearly $900. Not happenings. A friend, Tim Maloney, suggested we drive to an off airport parking business in Nashville and let them transfer us to the airport terminal. That sounded better but made me nervous hoping they would remember to pick us up.
Upon more research... I've done more online research in the past 6 months than ever... I learned that we can park just outside the terminal for a modest fee and easily walk to the terminal. God willing they will have a parking space available when we get there very early Friday morning.
Hang in there with us and soon you will know about the parking space and how the flight to Maui goes. Lot's more to come... I hope!
